“Lay The Favorite” is a light-hearted movie about the sports gambling business. Bruce Willis (Die Hard) plays a goofy but loveable lead character Dink Heimowitz, who ran a sports betting enterprise, on a small level, and it creates some zaniness throught the film.
Catherine Zeta Jones (Chicago) plays Tulip, Dink’s wife and the triangle between the couple and Rebecca Hall (Beth), a stripper, makes for a very interesting and exciting storyline.
“The Master” is a movie by Anchor Bay Entertainment that features Joaquin Phoenix (Freddie) who is a drifter who had a hard time fitting into society when WWII ended. He has a lot of quirks and in some strange way Phillip Seymour Hoffman (Lancaster Dodd) gives him a direction in life by bringing him into his “cult” as his right-hand man.
Both actors give supreme performances and this twisted story will have you shaking your head at times but you will believe everything you see on the screen thanks to the actors mentioned above plus Amy Adams (Peggy Dodd) and Laura Dern (Helen).
